Mr. Alberto Herrera

Principal

Greetings, Sam Rosen Family! I am excited to continue building on our school’s success and growth. To our returning families, welcome back—and to those joining us for the first time, welcome to the Sam Rosen community. We are proud of our collaborative culture and our shared commitment to preparing students for the future.

I am married and have three children. In my free time, I enjoy reading, cooking, grilling, and detailing cars. I am originally from Eagle Pass, Texas, and moved to the DFW area in 2000. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in History and Spanish from The University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from The University of Texas at Arlington. I am currently pursuing my doctoral degree at Texas Christian University.

The 2026–2027 school year marks my 29th year in education and 17th year as a principal. My experience includes teaching 6th-grade Social Studies in multiple districts, serving as an assistant principal in Grand Prairie ISD, and leading as principal at Anson Jones Elementary School in Dallas ISD before joining Sam Rosen.

I am passionate about pursuing excellence, building leadership capacity within our team, and fostering a love of learning in every student. Strong relationships, clear communication, and collaboration are at the heart of our work. It is an honor to serve the Sam Rosen community, and I look forward to partnering with you for a successful school year. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or ideas.

Jennifer Sanchez, Ed.D.

Assistant Principal

Hello! My name is Dr. Jennifer Sanchez, and I am honored to join Sam Rosen as an Assistant Principal.

I have served in Fort Worth ISD for 25 years as a classroom teacher, instructional coach, and administrator. I previously had the privilege of serving as principal at Rufino Mendoza for eight years before returning to the assistant principal role to spend more time with my three daughters and grandson following the unexpected loss of my husband.

I feel truly blessed to begin this new chapter at Sam Rosen alongside Mr. Herrera and this wonderful community. I look forward to working together to support our students, staff, and families.

Elizabeth Salazar

Counselor

Hello Sam Rosen Staff! My name is Elizabeth Salazar, and I am excited and honored to be a part of the Eagle Family. I am originally from South Texas, but have lived in the DFW area for several years, working as a school counselor. I obtained my Master of Education in Counseling from The University of Texas at Brownsville. I am married and have two college-aged children. I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, and shopping.

I am excited to work alongside you to help our students succeed. I am ready to support our students' social-emotional well-being and academic learning. My goal this year is to build collaborative relationships with staff, families, and the local community to grow a positive school learning environment.
