Ms. Alondra Hernández

1st Grade Dual Language Teacher

Hello! My name is Alondra Hernández, and I have 19 years of experience teaching in FWISD. I attended Texas Wesleyan University and began my career as a Pre-K teacher assistant before teaching kindergarten and first grade. Kindergarten holds a special place in my heart—I love seeing my students’ growth, especially in their writing from the beginning to the end of the year. There’s nothing more rewarding than watching them gain confidence and excitement for learning. My goal is to help every student succeed both socially and academically. I always remind them: never say “I can’t”—instead, say “Sí se puede.”

I am a proud mom of two daughters, Kayla and Nataly, who both play in mariachi. I love spending time with them and my family, listening to music, going to the movies, reading mystery books, and doing crafts.

Ms. Betzaida Rodriguez

1st Grade Dual Language Teacher

Hello! My name is Betzaida Rodriguez, and I was born in Puerto Rico. I am a proud mom of two wonderful children, Sharif and Sofia. I graduated from the University of Puerto Rico in Humacao in 2003 and began my teaching career that same year.

In 2012, my family relocated to Fort Worth, and I joined FWISD in 2013. I truly enjoy being a teacher and love greeting my students each day because “To teach a child is to touch the future.”

Mrs. Monica Glenn

1st grade General Education Teacher

Hello! My name is Monica Glenn, and I have been teaching for 10 years—9 of those at Sam Rosen, where there’s truly nowhere else I’d rather be. I am originally from Oklahoma but have called Texas home for the past 30 years, where my entire family lives close by.

I’m a proud “dog mom” to my two babies, Mitzi and Winston, my pitbull and German shepherd. Outside of school, I teach ballet and tap at The Plaza Academy and stay involved in theatre across the DFW area. I’m also the proud aunt to seven nieces and nephews and two great-nieces—and I like to think I’m the world’s best aunt!

I love to travel and have visited places like New York, Paris, and Spain, but my favorite destination is Disney World.
