5th Grade

Hello! My name is Vanessa Hernandez. I graduated from North Side High School, earned my associate degree from Tarrant County College, and received my bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education with a minor in Spanish from Texas Wesleyan University. This is my 17th year in education, all of which I have proudly spent at Sam Rosen. I have taught 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade. I truly enjoy teaching at Sam Rosen because of our amazing students, families, and staff.

Me gradué de North Side High School, obtuve mi título de asociado en Tarrant County College y mi licenciatura en Educación Primaria con una subespecialidad en Español en Texas Wesleyan University. Este es mi año número 15 como maestra, todos en Sam Rosen. He enseñado segundo, tercero, cuarto y quinto grado. Disfruto mucho trabajar en Sam Rosen gracias a nuestros maravillosos estudiantes, familias y personal escolar.

Hello! My name is Christian Peña, and I am excited to join the 5th-grade team at Sam Rosen. This is my 9th year with FWISD, following 9 years of teaching in the Head Start program.

I have been married for 16 years and have one daughter. In my free time, I enjoy crafting, hiking, and spending quality time with my family.

I am especially excited to serve the community that helped shape me and to be part of the Sam Rosen Eagles!
