Mrs. Shelli Aulisio

Art Teacher

I am from Donna, Texas, in the Rio Grande Valley. I went to TCU for one year and graduated from the University of North Texas.

This is my 14th year teaching and 5th year at Sam Rosen elementary. This year in art we are working on becoming our own artists by working through the artistic process while using media we select to make art that is important to us.

In my free time, I like to hike, travel, and make fused glass jewelry.

Mr. Joe Gonzales

Physical Education and Wellness Coordinator

Hi y’all. Coach Joe here. I am the P.E. teacher/Wellness Coordinator here at Sam Rosen. This is my 18th year as a teacher at FWISD, and my 6th year here at Sam Rosen. One of my passions is teaching my students the benefits of leading an active and healthy lifestyle. My favorite thing about teaching P.E. is that I have the opportunity to get to know every student at our school. However, the thing that I enjoy most is spending time with my wife, my son, family and friends. I enjoy being outdoors, grilling, and watching Dallas Cowboys Football. Go Cowboys!

Music

Long before my Texas days, I was born and raised in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. I attended Shenandoah University in Winchester, Virginia, where I majored in music education. Music has always been a passion of mine; I started playing viola when I was 9 years old and gradually added other instruments to my skillset, including the harp! I started teaching middle school in Loudoun County, Virginia, where I taught both chorus and beginning guitar.

For the past 15 years, I’ve taught elementary music in the HEB ISD. My goal is to instill in my students a lifelong love of learning, especially when it comes to music, and to help develop their musical vocabularies. I love to travel–and the best part of traveling is finding local coffee places and bakeries! I also practice photography, love to run, always have a book nearby, and watch sports whenever I get the chance. I am excited to be starting at Fort Worth ISD and look forward to meeting all my new coworkers and our great kids!

School Librarian

I have always enjoyed reading ever since I was a young child. I would spend my summers swimming, riding my bike, and reading. It was a treat to get to go to the bookstore with my mom to buy the next book in my favorite series! I spent many a day riding my bike to the public library after school and enjoying hours and stacks of books that allowed me to explore my world and fall in love with characters I connected with. I hope you are doing the same with your children as you are reading with your them every night.

This is my 22nd year in education. I have a Masters of Education from the University of North Texas. I spent time learning Spanish in my college years and I have taught 4th grade dual language, high school Spanish, and worked in various middle and high school libraries.

In my free time I enjoy traveling around the world, meeting new people, spending time with my 3 kids and helping them develop their athletic and musical talents.

My mission here is to make your kids feel loved and at home in this place, and to challenge them to become the best readers and learners they can be! It is my pleasure to watch your children learn and grow as readers and leaders!
